Jason Calacanis on Social Media and Local

By: Mike Boland 21 December 2006

Search Engine Watch has a write-up of an interview between Danny Sullivan and blogging pioneer, turned AOL exec, turned VC Jason Calacanis.

Last time we wrote about Calacanis, he was given the task of turning the downtrodden Netscape brand into a social news network for AOL, akin to Digg. Recently he left AOL to become the “Entrepreneur-in-Action” for prolific Silicon Valley VC firm Sequoia Capital (early funders of Yahoo!, Google, PayPal, YouTube the list goes on).

Calacanis’ strong views on social media, blogging and search engine optimization are explored in the article (along with his explanation for what the heck an “Entrepreneur-in-Action” is). An interesting read.
