Whither White Pages, Part II

By: Charles Laughlin 8 January 2007

We’ve written a fair amount recently on the topic of White Pages, specifically whether print White Pages has much of a future in a world that is increasingly mobile and digital.

An article in today’s Albuquerque Tribune adds to the debate with a discussion of how many phone numbers will be missing from the Dex White Pages book because of the rapid growth of wireless compared with wireline phone numbers in New Mexico’s largest city.

TKG’s view has been that residential White Pages has a limited future, while business White Pages, which is a legitimate revenue generator, may actually attract investment from publishers looking for sources of print incremental revenues.
