YPG Scoops Up Aliant

By: Charles Laughlin 19 February 2007

Canada’s Yellow Pages Group announced today that it has acquired Aliant ActiMedia, a small directory publisher in the Maritime provinces. YPG held a minority position in the publisher, though the telecom Bell Aliant owned 87 percent of the publishing operation.

With this acquisition, YPG extends its dominance of Canada’s incumbent directory market. Only Direct West, a telecom subsidiary publisher in Saskatchewan, stands in the way of YPG’s coast-to-coast presence.

There are several stories on the wires today about this deal. Here is one from Bloomberg.
