The Shift to Verticals: Zornosa Joins Cobalt’s Dealix

By: Peter Krasilovsky 9 November 2007

The brain drain to verticals continues. The latest executive to cross over is Anna Zornosa, who is joining Dealix as executive vice president and general manager. Dealix is Cobalt’s provider of sales leads to auto dealers.

Zornosa most recently ran Yahoo! personals and was previously chief marketing officer for Hilary Schneider at Knight Ridder Digital. Before that, she was a top executive with Topica (an e-mail services provider), women.com and PointCast. She started her career as a reporter (and a real good one).

Zornosa is the second top executive to recently leave Yahoo! Marketplaces; head Jennifer Dulski formally left the company yesterday.

I worked a bit with Anna (in a partnership capacity) at her time with Yahoo! Personals. She’s a great person to work with, knows her space, and is a consummate professional. I’m sure she’ll do great things at Dealix (which has a very good reputation itself, from the people I’ve talked to about it).
