Zvents Brings Paul Levine on Board

By: Mike Boland 15 July 2008

AdBrite VP of Marketing (and former Yahoo Local GM) Paul Levine has joined the board of local event site Zvents.

Since its launch in 2005, Zvents has raised about $7 million and has made some strong moves in local events, including teaming up with many online newspapers like Boston.com to power their events sections. It has meanwhile pushed ahead of some of its competitors in the space, including eventful, and it powers the event feature of the new Yellowpages.com iPhone app (eventful has an iPhone app too).

The addition of Levine should be another boost, given his knowledge and local search chops. This also comes a few months after AdBrite partnered with concert promoter LiveNation to bring display ad campaign management and reporting down to the local band manager level. This was a clear sign of Levine’s local influence in the relatively new post ad AdBrite and now, it seems, representative of a trend involving local events.
