Check Out Google Android in Action

By: Mike Boland 19 August 2008

To follow up on last week’s post about a prospective Google Android-based T-Mobile phone, here is a video from MobileCrunch that demos Android.

The video walks through an emulator of the operating system, which is basically a desktop version of the software that allows developers to test applications without requiring an Android-based phone (the iPhone SDK has the same thing).

As you can tell, there are lots of developments to come — both from the Android team and also on the backs of many independent developers. For now, the video offers a good introductory glimpse into the touch screen-based OS if you haven’t seen it yet (though the sound is pretty low — headphones recommended).
