ComScore Reports Q1 Mobile Subscriber Data

By: Mike Boland 6 May 2010

Comscore today reported that U.S. mobile Web usage has reached 30 percent of mobile subscribers. This is out of a total 234 million mobile subscribers age 13 and up.

The Q1 mobile market data also breaks down user activities and market shares for OEMs and carriers. For OEMs, Samsung is in the lead but there’s even distribution among market share leaders with Motorola and LG each trailing within a percentage point.

Verizon leads among carriers with 31 percent of mobile subscribers, followed by AT&T (25.2 percent) and Sprint (12.0 percent). Text messaging meanwhile took a commanding share of mobile Web user activity, followed by Web browsing and downloading apps. The latter two, along with social networking, are showing the fastest growth.
